After crossing the Jordanian-Palestinian borders to execute a military operation in coalition with Ahmed Mour'ie and freed prisoner Fadi Farah against the Israeli Occupying Forces, was caught on an electrified wire, indicating the groups presence to the Israeli soldiers. The area lightened up, and the Israeli soldiers besieged them. Ahmed Mour'ie said what happened at that moment was he and Emad successfully escaped the electrified wire, yet however, both separated each other to avoid the Israeli Forces' open fire. He also added that ever since that moment, he does not know on Emad's fate. On August 7th, 1995, the Israeli Army sent a force to Emad Al Zaqzouq's house, carrying a body inside a nylon bag, and told his wife and family that this is Emad's body. They handed over the body in order for his family to bury him in the village's cemetery. On June 15th, 1997, Al Quds Newspaper published the news that a former prisoner from the Gaza Strip and resides in Jordan confirmed to one of Emad's relatives that Emad is alive and is coming to visit him. On May 23rd, 1998, the Palestinian Al Ayyam Newspaper published the news that freed prisoner Sameer Taqatqah confirmed that Emad is alive, and detained by the Israeli Authorities in solitary confinement cells in Bi'r Al Sabe' Prison. The Israeli Minister of Defense, Yitzhak Mordechai, announced that Emad Al Zaqzouq is buried in the Cemetery of Numbers, cemetery number 5018, which he denied that statement afterwards.
